Shanghai, China, Wednesday 14th April 2021 –VR headset manufacturer DPVR has successfully maintained its market leadership position. With over 30% market share, DPVR achieved the No#1 position in PRC market share in Q2 and Q3 of 2020 based on IDC’s VR/AR Market Quarterly Review.
Based on IDC’s forecast, the worldwide virtual reality headset industry, both standalone VR and PC-tethered VR, will see rapid growth over the next 5 years. Most of this growth is expected to come from standalone VR headsets with this segment expected to reach over 22 million units by 2025.
While the use of Virtual Reality (VR) headsets has been considered the realm of online gaming, this cutting edge technology is now being used in many other activities in our daily lives;
Corporate and enterprise training
Education in schools and universities
Health care patient treatment
Occupational health and safety training
Shopping centre simulator rides
and many other applications across different industries and markets. This is being driven by the advances in software platforms or VR services that are broadening the use cases of virtual reality technology and the headsets that are used.
DPVR is a virtual reality technology design company based in Shanghai, China that manufactures a range of virtual reality headsets that can be used by tethering to a PC or as a standalone wireless device. Our products are used as enterprise solutions for companies around the world in various industries.
In 2019 the P1 virtual reality headset achieved IF Design recognition and DPVR plans to announce new products in 2021 that will continue to promote the development of the VR industry through further technology innovations.
