2024-07-09

From July 1st to 3rd, the Global Youth Exchange Summer Camp was held at Southern University of Science and Technology. The summer camp, with the theme of "A New Generation, A New Future", brings together more than 200 outstanding young people from 50 countries. After in-depth exchanges, consensus has been reached and "2024 Global Youth Shenzhen Initiative: A New Generation, A New Future" has been released.

Gu Ting, Vice President of International Youth Development Foundation (IYDF), attended the event. He stated that IYDF is an internationally influential non-governmental humanitarian aid organization founded by Mr. Nicholas Charles in the UK in 2012. We have established branches in 63 countries and regions including China, Myanmar, Vietnam, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa, Algeria, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Fiji, and the Philippines. Provide educational opportunities for impoverished children in developing and third world countries, and utilize high-quality education as a catalyst for social change. As of 2023, IYDF has provided humanitarian assistance to over 163000 impoverished children in 63 countries and regions, helping over 50000 children complete basic education. In this era where challenges and opportunities coexist, the world needs a diverse perspective, and young people need to stand at the forefront of the times, shoulder social responsibilities, respect cultural differences with an open and inclusive empathy, enhance cross-cultural communication and understanding, and advocate for equality and common prosperity.

During the 3-day event, young people from various countries had lively discussions on topics such as "Global Competence and Global Governance of Youth", "Contemporary Global Youth: Indigenous Peoples in the AI Era", and "Youth Health and the Future".

In the "2024 Global Youth Shenzhen Initiative: A New Generation, Creating the Future" released at this event, everyone unanimously believes that in the face of the challenges and uncertainties of future society, global youth should have an open and inclusive empathy, respect cultural differences, enhance cross-cultural communication and understanding, advocate peace and common prosperity, and be young people with global competence and social responsibility.
